Coaching Week

With lacrosse beginning to slow down around the country right now, the Coaching Association of Canada is excited to launch National Coach's Week from September 16-24, 2023.

To thank coaches for everything that they do, Coaches' week allows coaches the opportunity to gain some crucial knowledge, when it comes to coaching in Canada. National Coaches Week is a time to celebrate the positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This annual campaign is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play, and to take time to say #ThanksCoach.

If you are in need, or simply want to get ahead, this is a great opportunity for you to gain some professional development points through the courses that the Coaching association is providing this week. All of these courses are either free, or at a discounted rate. Not only are you able to save money, but you can do so while becoming the best coach possible for whatever age group or gender you already coach or plan to coach in the future.

Below is the link to the Coaching Associations website where you will be able to find the courses mentioned before. We have also provided the courses that are provided, along with the dates that they will be occurring.   As long as you start these workshops on the day they're featured, you can come back and finish them at your convenience.

Professional Development points required to maintain 'active coach' status:

Community development certified coaches - require 10 PD points every five years

Competition Introduction certified coaches - require 20 PD pointes every five years

Competition Development certified coaches - require 30 PD points every five years

To check your status, go to coach.ca / locker click on your certifications and on the left side of the screen you'll see a 'maintenance' tab.  Remember to self report active coaching and any self directed learning you've completed.....it all adds up.
