Lacrosse Canada Unveils Strategic Roadmap

Lacrosse Canada has developed a national roadmap to guide our priorities and decision-making through 2028. This plan outlines where we are focusing, how we will strengthen the system, and the steps required to support long-term growth across all disciplines.

This work comes at an important moment for the organization. As the sport continues to evolve both nationally and internationally, there is a clear need for greater alignment, consistency, and accountability across governance, programs, and operations.

The roadmap has been informed by ongoing input from staff, Member Associations, and key stakeholders, alongside a review of current structures, gaps, and opportunities. It reflects both the realities of today and the direction required to build a stronger, more connected national system.

This is a working plan that will continue to evolve as we progress. It is grounded in transparency and accountability, with a focus on delivering meaningful value to our Members and advancing the sport across Canada.

Lacrosse in Canada stands at a defining moment.

As the original game of this land, our sport carries deep cultural significance and a proud national legacy. Today, we honour that history while recognizing the responsibility in front of us – to evolve, to lead, and to build a system that reflects the full potential of lacrosse in Canada.

The past year has been one of transition and reflection.  While at the same time, meaningful progress has been made.

We enter this next chapter with growing momentum and a stronger foundation. Over the past year, Lacrosse Canada has taken important steps to strengthen financial discipline, modernize governance, and bring clearer alignment to the priorities that matter most to our Members and participants. This includes improved financial controls, more consistent governance practices, and a more focused approach to how we prioritize and deliver across the organization.

This work positions us to move forward with greater focus, stability, and purpose. We are operating with greater clarity in roles, accountability, and execution across both Board and Staff leadership.

The years ahead will demand more of us.

With lacrosse set to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, we are entering a new era – one defined by increased visibility, higher expectations, and significant opportunity. This moment calls for clarity, alignment, and a commitment to modernize how we lead, operate, and deliver across the national system.

Our 2026–2028 Strategic Roadmap is a deliberate step forward.

It reflects a clear ambition: to strengthen lacrosse in Canada through a more aligned, transparent, and high-performing national system – one that delivers meaningful value to participants, supports our Member Associations, and elevates the sport on the world stage.

This roadmap focuses our efforts on what matters most:

  • Modernizing player pathways, coaching, and officiating
  • Strengthening national events and competitive structures
  • Advancing governance, transparency, and accountability
  • Delivering clear and measurable value to our Members
  • Building a sustainable and aligned national team model

This is not a static plan – it is a commitment to action, accountability, and measurable progress.

We know that trust is built through consistency, clarity, and delivery. That means being transparent in how we operate, disciplined in how we prioritize, and collaborative in how we work with our Members and partners across the country.

The opportunity in front of us is significant.

Together, we will continue to shape the future of lacrosse in Canada – strengthening our system, growing the game, and positioning our athletes and programs for success in 2028 and beyond.
