Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to take your coaching skills to the next level, lacrosse offers various pathways to get started. How to Become a Coach

Coaching lacrosse is a great way to give back to the game, develop leadership skills, and help athletes grow. Whether you’re new to coaching or looking to level up, here’s how to get started:



1. Get Your NCCP Number (Required)

Before coaching, you’ll need to register for a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) number. This number allows you to track your coaching education and certifications.

2. Get Involved with Your Local Lacrosse Association

Most coaches start at the community level! Connect with your Provincial/Territorial Lacrosse Association to:
– Find coaching opportunities
– Learn about available training & development programs
– Join coaching clinics or mentorship opportunities



3. Build Your Coaching Knowledge
