Toronto, Ontario – Lacrosse Canada has officially launched its search for a new Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth, stability, and national impact.
As the national governing body for lacrosse in Canada, Lacrosse Canada plays a central role in supporting and advancing the sport across the country, from grassroots participation to high-performance competition, and across all disciplines, including box, field, and sixes lacrosse. The organization is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and relationship-driven leader who can help strengthen the sport system, support its members, and guide the organization through an important period of renewal and opportunity.
With the sport approaching a significant inflection point on the road to LA 2028, Lacrosse Canada sees this leadership transition as an important opportunity to position the organization and its members for long-term success. The next Executive Director will be expected to provide strong operational leadership, advance Lacrosse Canada’s strategic priorities, strengthen partnerships across the national sport landscape, and help drive sustainable, revenue-generating opportunities that support the growth and development of the sport.
“This is an important moment for Lacrosse Canada,” said Matthew Shearer, President of Lacrosse Canada. “As we look ahead to LA 2028 and the opportunities it presents for our sport, we are seeking a leader who can build trust, foster strong relationships, generate new opportunities, and work collaboratively with our members, staff, partners, and stakeholders to move the organization forward in a positive and sustainable way”.
The search reflects Lacrosse Canada’s commitment to strong governance, operational excellence, and the continued growth and development of Canada’s National Summer Sport. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated leadership experience, sound organizational judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a complex, member-driven environment, while also helping the organization identify and advance new revenue-generating initiatives.
The position is now posted, and interested candidates are encouraged to review the full job posting for details on the role, qualifications, and application process.
