EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Miners are Presidents Cup champions. Playing in front of the home crowd at the Silent Ice Centre, Edmonton defeated the defending champion Snake Island Muskies 12-4 in the gold medal game to claim the Senior B national championship.
The Miners came out strong, taking a 2-0 lead after the opening period before putting the game out of reach with six goals in the second. They added four more in the third to close out the championship and finish the Presidents Cup undefeated.
Brett McIntyre led the way in the final with eight points, including a goal and seven assists, while Dean Fairall scored three times. Kyle Playsted added two goals and three assists, and Jake Bowen also scored twice. In net, Cam MacLeod was outstanding for the Miners, stopping 44 of 48 shots for a .920 save percentage. Mayea also finished as the Presidents Cup scoring leader, putting up 38 points on 17 goals and 21 assists, while McIntyre finished right behind him with 37 points.

The Snake Island Muskies took home silver after entering the tournament as defending champions, while the Ladner Pioneers earned bronze. The Presidents Cup brought together the best Senior B teams from across the country for a week of hard-fought lacrosse in Edmonton.
