CALGARY, AB — The Raiders are Minto Cup champions.
The Raiders made history Sunday night, defeating the Victoria Shamrocks 9-6 in Game 3 of the Minto Cup Finals at Max Bell Centre to capture the 2026 Minto Cup and become the first Alberta team to win Canada’s Junior A national championship.
The Raiders came out firing in the deciding game, building a 6-1 lead after the opening period before extending the advantage to 9-3 through 40 minutes. Victoria mounted a late comeback with three goals in the third period, but the Raiders held on to secure the championship.
Tournament MVP Dylan Belliveau led the Raiders with five points, including a goal and four assists, while Wyatt Viste and Cole Morris each scored twice.
The 2026 Minto Cup brought together the top Junior A teams in Canada, St Catharines (ON), Victoria (BC), Calgary (AB), along with the host Raiders, for seven days of lacrosse in Calgary.
For the Raiders, the victory adds their name to more than a century of Minto Cup history while delivering Alberta its first-ever championship. This Minto Cup was one of the most memorable Championships in lacrosse history, as every game brought the passion that is so unique to Jr A lacrosse in Canada.
