Tokyo, Japan – Team Canada opened the 2026 Nissin Foods World Lacrosse Women’s Championship with a 23-0 victory over Germany on Sunday at Oi Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. The win gives Canada a 1-0 start in Pool B as the Canadians continue preliminary round play.

How It Happened
Canada wasted no time setting the tone, scoring 9 goals in the opening quarter, including a hat trick from Aurora Cordingley to build an early advantage. The Canadians carried a 16-0 lead into halftime and continued to control possession and create scoring opportunities throughout the second half.
Canada never let up after halftime, continuing to move the ball with precision while controlling the pace of play. Jordan Dean played a key role in that effort, winning 88% of her draws. Every goal in the second half came off an assist, and by the final whistle, 10 different Canadians had found the back of the net. Lauren Spence entered in relief of starter Kameron Halsall and helped preserve the combined shutout.
