Oshawa, ON - January 2025 - Lacrosse Canada (LC) is excited to announce an opening for the position of Technical/National Development Teams Coordinator. This full-time, hybrid role will be central to advancing the growth and success of lacrosse across the country, with a focus on athlete development, coaching, and officiating. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing national development programs, supporting the growth of coaching and officiating standards, and working closely with national teams to elevate the sport at all levels. The position is anticipated to start in Spring 2025.
The Technical/National Development Teams Coordinator will work closely with LC’s partners, and committees to deliver and expand ongoing programs aimed at fostering excellence in the sport. This includes overseeing the development and execution of Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plans, coaching education programs, and national team talent identification. The role will also involve organizing training camps, competitions, and other events, while ensuring that all activities align with national standards and best practices in lacrosse development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching Development: Oversee NCCP programs, coaching clinics, and high-performance coaching resources.
- Officials Program: Develop and manage officiating programs and support officials for international events.
- Athlete Development: Implement Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plans and coordinate athlete and coaching programs across Canada.
- National Teams: Lead talent identification, national team staff coordination, and athlete development programs.
- Program Management: Develop, deliver, and evaluate national programs; liaise with sector committees and external partners.
- Administration: Manage budgets, create promotional materials, and support reporting and logistics.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in sport management or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in sports administration or coaching development (lacrosse preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with NCCP, LTAD, and officiating development programs is an asset.
- Bilingualism and experience in lacrosse are preferred.
