Canada defeats Haudenosaunee 14-6, finishes pool play with second seed

Limerick, IRE—It was a total team effort on both sides of the field tonight in the final game of pool play of the 2022 U21 Men’s World Championships, resulting in a 14-6 victory.

 

Despite a multiple hour lightning delay, the team stayed sharp. Canada finished pool play 3-1, dropping only their opener against the USA. Monday’s game saw 8 goal scorers, including a four-goal, single-assist game from captain Thomas McConvey.

 

Andrew Dalton (1G), Sam English (1G, 1A), Brock Haley (1G, 3A), Owen Hiltz (2G), Graydon Hogg (2G, 1A), Adam Poitras (2A), Ross Scott (1G, 3A), and Carter Page (1A) also made their way onto the scoresheet.

 

Bo Columbus won 15 of 23 face offs, his best performance of the tournament thus far.

 

Canada will face the winner of Czech Republic vs Ireland on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. IST.
