Canada finishes Group play with 0 goals against

The Canadian women’s team secured first place in Pool A after a dominating win over Ireland 28-0 earlier today.  

 

Canada was led offensively by Dana Dobbie and Erica Evans who each finished with six points. Dobbie finished with four goals and two assists while Evans had five goals and one assist.  

 

Dacia Cordingley and Megan Kinna finished with five points apiece in the game. Harlowe Steele and Shonly Wallace recorded four points each, while Ashley Bull, Ella Royer, Dylana Williams and Katy de Snoo all had three on the day.  

 

Starting goalie Jessica Quinn stopped four shots to keep the shutout intact at halftime before Kayla Kondo finished off the game, stopping two shots in the second half.  

 

Evans, Cordingley, Steele, Kinna, Dobbie and de Snoo are the tournament's top scorers with Evans leading the way with 17 goals and 28 points.   

 

Canada has been a force all tournament long and they ended their round robin play on a high note, scoring a combined 113 goals in their first four games. Canada has tallied at least 26 goals in every game.  

 

Canada’s next game is still to be determined as other round robin matches will finish today to finalize standings.  Quarterfinal action will get underway on Thursday.
