2015 U19 Women’s World Field Lacrosse Championship Team

There have been some big moments for Canadian Lacrosse at the international level. Canada has hosted major events many times, beginning with our Centennial Celebration in 1967. In 1978 Canada pulled off what most fans consider to be a miracle defeating the USA to grab the Gold Medal in Men’s Field Lacrosse.  The Men would win 2 more World Field Championships in 2006 and 2014. They are 5 time Gold Medalists in World Box Lacrosse heading into this year’s World Tournament.

Canada would hold the first ever World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in 2003. And there is another chapter that needs to be told.

In Scotland in 2015 a Women’s U19 field Team was able to do something no other Canadian team was able to accomplish. They brought Gold Medals home for Canada.

We have assembled Head Coach Scott Teeter and players Erica Evans and Megan Kinna to share the amazing tale of how the team persevered through the difficult early stages to gain a chance to play for the Gold. They met the USA in front of a Scottish crowd that were waving Canadian flags given to them by our team officials. The rest is history and It is good to listen to!
