Oshawa, ON — Lacrosse Canada is proud to announce the elite officials who will be in attendance at the 2025 Coaches and Officiating Clinic. Representing decades of experience across domestic and international lacrosse, these leaders will play a key role in developing the next generation of officials. Participants will benefit from their expertise, leadership, and firsthand knowledge of the sport at its highest levels.
Attending Officials:
Brent Coulombe (Welland, ON)
Brent Coulombe brings 26 years of lacrosse and 25 years of hockey officiating experience. He has officiated gold medal games at both the World Lacrosse Box and Field Championships and is one of the most respected figures in the sport. Brent currently serves as the Officiating Chair for World Lacrosse, guiding global standards for officiating excellence. Domestically, he’s officiated all five major national box championships, including the Mann, Minto, and Founders Cups. In the professional ranks, he is a Crew Chief in the National Lacrosse League and has worked multiple NLL Champions Cups. His leadership and consistency have made him a role model for officials across Canada and beyond.
Brandon Hesson (Bowmanville, ON)
Brandon Hesson has been officiating since 2010 and brings a player’s perspective to every game. A former member of the Green Gaels Jr. B team, he transitioned from player to official and quickly rose through the ranks. His résumé includes the 2018 Summer Games finals, multiple Mann Cups, the Minto Cup, and the 2025 NLL Championship. In 2024, Brandon reached a career milestone when he officiated the gold medal game at the World Lacrosse Box Championship. He has been part of the NLL officiating team since 2019 and continues to gain recognition for his composure and command on the floor. Brandon’s dedication and calm leadership make him a respected figure among peers and emerging officials alike.
Dominique Hartley (Gloucester, ON)
Dominique Hartley brings over 16 years of officiating experience and has long been a trailblazer in women’s box lacrosse. She has officiated three minor national championships and was the first female Official-In-Chief at the Canada Summer Games’ female division. In 2024, she officiated her first World Championship at the World Lacrosse Box event in Utica, NY. That same year, she made NLL history as only the second woman to serve on an NLL referees’ crew. Dominique is known for her strong leadership and commitment to growing the game, especially for women and girls. Her accomplishments have earned her several awards, including the Jack Mann Award and OLRA’s Provincial Championship Referee recognition.
Kyle Kropman (Ajax, ON)
Kyle Kropman began officiating in 2004 and has built a strong reputation across both box and field lacrosse. His early work in West Durham led to provincial and national recognition, including the Minor Box Official of the Year award. He has officiated at the Founders Cup, Minto Cup, OLF, and Summer Games Gold Medal Games. In field lacrosse, Kyle’s experience spans more than a decade with OMFLL and CUFLA. He joined the NLL in 2015 and was promoted to Crew Chief in 2022, officiating NLL Finals in 2022, 2023, and 2025. Known for his accuracy and professionalism, Kyle is a trusted leader in Canada’s officiating ranks.
These officials will lead sessions throughout the clinic, offering technical insight, sharing personal experiences, and helping raise the bar for officiating nationwide. Their presence underscores Lacrosse Canada’s commitment to excellence, mentorship, and the long-term growth of officiating in the sport.
