Lacrosse Canada Provides Special Meeting Of Members Update

Lacrosse Canada acknowledges the outcome of the Special Meeting of Members held on April 21, 2026, where a vote of the membership resulted in a leadership transition.

As a member-driven organization, Lacrosse Canada respects the decision of its Members and the governance process that guides the sport across the country.

We extend our sincere thanks to Matt Shearer for his many years of service to Lacrosse Canada, including his time as Director at Large and most recently as President. His leadership, commitment, and contributions have played an important role in supporting the organization and the broader lacrosse community.

Lacrosse Canada remains focused on its continued forward direction, including the recruitment of a new Executive Director, and on delivering against its strategic priorities. Staff and leadership remain aligned in supporting Member Associations, athletes, and partners across the country.

The Board of Directors will be meeting in the coming days to determine next steps with respect to leadership, including the appointment of a new President.

Further updates will be shared as appropriate.
