Chengdu, China — Team Canada’s Women’s Sixes squad has stormed through group play at The World Games, finishing with a perfect 3–0 record.
Canada opened the tournament with a decisive 20–5 win over Japan, followed by a 14–10 victory against Great Britain, and closed out group play in dominant fashion with a 25–0 shutout against China. Nicole Perroni and Erica Evans have paced the offence, consistently finding the back of the net, while goaltender Lauren Spence has anchored the defence with strong performances in goal.
With the sweep, Canada now advances to the semifinals, where they will face Australia on Sunday, August 10 at 2:30 a.m. ET / 11:30 p.m. PT (Aug. 9) / 2:30 p.m. CST. The winner will move on to the gold medal game, scheduled for Monday, August 11 at 6:00 a.m. ET / 3:00 a.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. CST.
