Lacrosse Canada Opens Applications for National Official-in-Charge (OIC) Positions — Junior A, B and Senior A, B Lacrosse

Oshawa, ON – July 31, 2025 — Lacrosse Canada is now accepting applications for the positions of National Official-in-Charge (OIC) for Junior A, B and Senior A, B Lacrosse. These important leadership roles are essential to ensuring consistency, professionalism, and integrity in officiating at Lacrosse Canada’s National Championships.

Reporting to the National Championship Coordinator and Executive Director, the National OICs will oversee the selection, support, and evaluation of officials at national-level events. They will work collaboratively with the National Commissioners, provincial officiating leads, and event organizers to uphold high standards of officiating and competition integrity.

Lacrosse Canada is seeking four individuals to fill the following roles:

  • Junior A OIC
  • Junior B OIC
  • Senior A OIC
  • Senior B OIC

These are volunteer positions with an annual honorarium of $7,500, recognizing the time and expertise required. Each term is for two years, beginning October 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assigning and preparing officials for National Championships in collaboration with National Commissioners.
  • Leading on-site officiating teams during events, ensuring rule enforcement and professionalism.
  • Providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and post-event reports.
  • Supporting disciplinary processes and in-game incident reviews.
  • Collaborating with provincial officiating leaders to harmonize rules and interpretations.
  • Promoting fairness, integrity, and athlete welfare through officiating leadership.

Applicants should have:

  • Extensive experience as an official at the Junior and/or Senior level.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.
  • A deep understanding of Lacrosse Canada rules and event protocols.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and officiating development.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
