Oshawa – ON, It was a golden weekend for the home crowd at the World Lacrosse Super Sixes – Canada, as both the Canadian Men’s and Women’s National Teams claimed gold at the Oshawa Civic Centre. The three-day event brought fast-paced international action to Ontario, showcasing the sport’s top talent and the continued growth of the Sixes discipline.
In the Men’s Division, Canada defeated the United States 16–12 in a thrilling final to capture gold. Ian MacKay led the way for Canada throughout the tournament, finishing with 21 goals and 8 assists, followed closely by Owen Hiltz (16G, 13A) and Sam English (13G, 13A). Grayson Manning, who has had a standout summer of international success, added another gold medal to his collection that includes the U20 Championship and the U20 MVP.
On the women’s side, Canada Red also struck gold, topping Australia 14–11 in the Women’s Gold Medal Game. Nicole Perroni paced the tournament offensively with 19 goals and 4 assists, while Shonly Wallace added 16 goals and 1 assist. Goaltender Alecia Nicholas stood tall in net all weekend, backstopping Canada Red to the championship win.
Canada White fell to Australia in the semifinals but rebounded in the bronze medal game with a 14–8 victory over the Haudenosaunee. Brooklyn Walker-Welch continued to prove herself among the world’s best Sixes players, finishing with 14 goals and 8 assists, while Reese Whiteman (10G, 5A) and Dylana Williams (13G, 1A) also turned in strong performances.
The event drew teams and fans from around the world, creating an exciting atmosphere at the Oshawa Civic Centre. The fast-paced Sixes format once again highlighted the skill, creativity, and athleticism that define international lacrosse as we build towards LA28.
