Oshawa, ON — Following strong interest and positive feedback, Lacrosse Canada is expanding its Sixes Pilot Programs for both coaches and officials. These initiatives are designed to support the integration of the Sixes discipline into Canada’s broader lacrosse development pathway.
The Coaching Pilot Program introduces Sixes-specific training at the Community Development level, a foundational step in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). For $60, participants receive 3 hours of focused instruction, including video analysis of offense, defense, transition, and ride, as well as a discussion of rules and game adaptations. An NCCP Core Session is required for those new to Community Development coaching.
The Officiating Pilot Program is open to officials already certified in another lacrosse discipline (beyond their first year of certification). For $50, participants complete a self-paced online session followed by a virtual group session, gaining the skills needed to officiate in the Olympic-style Sixes format.
Upcoming Session Dates:
Coaches – Wednesday June 18th 4pm ET
Coaches – Wednesday June 25th 3pm ET
Coaches – Sunday June 29th 8pm ET
Officials -Tuesday, June 17th, 6 pm ET
Officials -Wednesday, June 25th, 7 pm ET
As Lacrosse Canada continues to develop the Sixes game, these pilot programs play a key role in building a strong foundation of knowledgeable leaders across the country.
