Oshawa, ON – Over the winter break, Lacrosse Canada held its initial invite only identification camp for the National Women’s Field Lacrosse Team, marking an important first step on the road to the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championships in Japan. The highly competitive camp brought together top athletes from across the country, providing the national program with an early opportunity to evaluate depth, talent, and positional strengths as preparations begin for Japan.
Co-Head Coaches Scott Teeter and Allison Daley were encouraged by both the level of play and the competitive environment throughout the camp.
“This was one of the most competitive camps we have ever been a part of, and that speaks volumes about the level of talent that came through the tryouts,” said Teeter. “The athletes pushed each other every single day, raising the standard across the board. Lacrosse Canada should be incredibly proud of the depth and quality of this talent pool.”
“The competitiveness of these tryouts has us extremely excited about the direction of this team,” added Daley. “Our entire staff is energized by what we saw in December and is truly looking forward to the journey ahead as we continue our road to Japan.”
